Our purposeGlobal Works exists with a simple objective: to use social science to help address real-world business issues. We take a hardline approach to understanding and improving leadership and management – leveraging data from rigorous research in the social sciences to provide concrete tools and solutions.

Our perspectiveCollaboration doesn’t occur in a vacuum - it is enabled or crushed by its environment. Every collaborative effort in your organization – be it a pair of colleagues, a team, or a project – is embedded in a complex set of social systems. Your organization’s design, its politics and power-bases, and its cultural norms and assumptions all shape why, how, and if things get done. The most effective leaders understand the particular “DNA” of their organizations and how it shapes the opportunities and constraints of the teams and collaborations within it.
We take this perspective as a guiding principle in our research and training. Rather than thinking of any of these in isolation, we provide insights into how all of these affect organizational effectiveness – both independently and through their interactions. This approach guides both our research and the services we provide, and with over 15 years’ experience, we are uniquely positioned to do so. |
